So, it's your upcoming big day and you want to book one of the most important parts of your wedding-makeup. First of all let us say Congratulations! Your in the right place for your makeup as we pride ourselves in making you look and feel beautiful on your big day perfect for those all important professional wedding pictures
BRIDAL GUIDE: 1. Book well in advance, yes I repeat in advance because you want to ensure we have the date and times available for you on your big day. Leaving it last minute may leave you stressed and added pressure. Let us take it off your shoulders, after all this is what we're here for and live and breathe. We recommend booking us at least 6 months in advance to ensure you can get us booked. Your makeup is important as this is the way you will look on your big day. I advise first having your venue and photographer booked then makeup so we can quote you properly based on location and put together an itinerary.
2. Upon booking, ensure you co-ordinate an itinerary according to your photographers time of arrival. We will provide you our itinerary based upon your photographers time of arrival so you know who's getting there makeup done when and can plan your day accordingly and we can also.
3. Book a trial. We strongly recommend, even if you trust us or are not picky to have a trial. This is because, we as a salon get to know exactly what you like/dislike, do your makeup according to your dress/theme, spend time advising the best routes and options to take with your makeup and lastly and most importantly allows us to avoid any possible unwanted makeup surprises, or disappointments on the big day. It will allow us to get straight in on your big day in turncutting out the consultation and saving you more time to spend at your wedding!
4. Have your trial done approx 1 month before your wedding and not earlier. This is because your hair colour could be different, your skin could be more tanned, you could have a spray tan, you could gain or loose weight which in turn changes your facial features, you could have had Botox, fillers etc which again in turn will change your face. Not only that but our skills continually improve and trends change how we sometimes do makeup. We are always gaining new tips, tricks and products that we didn't have before. So if trial is done too early then we may not remember you fully or you won't get the most up to date best results we could have achieved for you. When you come for your trial try to come with as much information as possible. Have a folder on your phone of your wedding colour palette, a picture of your wedding dress, do research on what you want and don't want, your likes and dislikes in makeup, write a like and dislike list so we have a better understanding of you. Come prepared as this we have only 1.5 hours tops and we are trying to get to know you. If you don't come prepared then it will make it harder for the trial to be successful.
5. Months leading up to the wedding it is very important to look after your skin. Makeup will only look as good as your skin does and so let's be realistic- no matter if you have the best artist in the world, the makeup may photograph beautifully but in real life you will see the flaws. Unfortunately, makeup doesn't cover texture. SKINCARE WEDDING TIPS: Drink plenty of water, eat right have a daily facial skin care routine in place. Get a professional in salon deep cleansing and hydrating facials once a month for a 6 month period and anything you want worked on such as discoloration, dry, flaky, oily skin and texture can be addressed with your skin care anesthetician duieng your facial appointment. Usually when working with an experienced facialist they can also help you with a daily skin care regime you an do at home to work on any skin concerns. Do not neglect your lips, this is just as important as your skin. Lipstick only looks as beautiful as your skin looks. Exfoliate your lips and keep them hydrated.
6. Groom yourself- This is important. Get dermaplaning for the wedding and on the hair any peach fuzz or hairs will cast dark/blue/grey shadows on the face and it will pop through the makeup. Dermaplaning is life changing as it makes your face smooth and clean and will allow your makeup to glide on your skin beautifully and allow the makeup to look flawless.
